The church has always been a place for the commemoration of important moments in people’s lives.  

We are available to support you in joy, in celebration and in grieving.

Baptisms

Baptisms take place as part of a regular Sunday service. These are memorable occasions which we hope mark the beginning of a long and happy association with Highfield Road Uniting Church. Most baptisms are little children, brought into the church by their parents; however, baptism is also available for teenagers and adults. Of course, family and friends are welcome to attend and photos can be taken. Alternatively, you may wish to have a blessing rather than a baptism.

Confirmation of young people or adults also takes place within the Sunday Service.  The Confirmation rite confirms, strengthens and completes baptism.

Weddings

Our Church offers a beautiful setting for weddings. Its spaces, pipe organ and leadlight windows create an intimate environment for this special event.  The new foyer flows seamlessly from the church and is a warm, modern space to accommodate guests after the service.

Funerals

A Uniting Church funeral celebrates the life of the deceased. We believe in the promise of resurrection and everlasting life after death. It is our hope that the service marks the beginning of healing for the bereaved.

Our Minister is happy to meet with families, including those who are not regular Highfield Rd members, to assist in planning a church based funeral.
